The Face
As I stare into the mirror, a lifeless form stares back.
As I ask the face “What has happened to your life?”
The face simply moans.
“Did you hear that?”
“The moan it told so much, yet said so little.”
I ask my question.
“Tell me more, please, I am willing to listen.”
The face turns its head up and looks into my eyes.
As I stare into the eyes of that lifeless face,
I realize it is mine.
I hear the low moan once again.
This time the message is perfectly clear.
I must look into my heart and soul and drag out all the pain and hurt before that lifeless face,
Can have life,
Once again.
